Imphal, June 27 2015 :
While appealing to all concerned to revoke all the ongoing blockades, MLA RK Anand has categorically stated that any form of blockade is not desirable.
Speaking at a public gathering held at Mekola Keithel today, RK Anand remarked that economic blockades are something which are more devastating than war crimes.
Imposition of blockades for protracted periods may lead to misunderstanding and distrust among different communities.
Anand appealed to ATSUM, Meitei Youth Front South East Asia and International Meitei Forum to revoke their blockades and counter-blockades.
Leaving aside the legitimacy of the demands raised by ATSUM, no one has the right to put the entire population of the State in such a miserable state.
Imposing counter-blockade defies logic.
Imposing counter-blockade is like committing a crime over a crime, Anand said.
He also monitored distribution of old age pension at Kwakeithel, Mekola and Hiyangthang today.
After making a direct assessment of the condition of Mekola PHC where round the clock health service has been introduced recently, the MLA donated Rs 50,000 to make up some shortfalls of the PHC.
