IYC set to launch protest

The Indian Youth Congress (IYC) is set to launch a demonstration to demand the removal of BJP leaders including Union Ministers Smriti Irani and Sushma Swaraj; Rajasthan CM Vasundhararaje and a Minister of Maharashtra Pankaj Munda from their respective offices.
Addressing media persons today at Congress Bhawan here, IYC National Secretary (Manipur in-charge), Daiyan Hussain said that IYC members will stage a sit-in in Imphal on July 3.Daiyan accused Union HRD Minister Smriti Irani of fooling the people of the country.
In her affidavit in 2004, Irani claimed that she passed BA in 1996 from Delhi University School of Correspondence.
In 2014, Irani claimed that she acquired a degree in Commerce from Delhi University School of Open Learning, Daiyan pointed out.
The IYC leader said that the Union HRD Minister's contrasting claims through her poll affidavits would send a wrong signal to the people of the country.
Daiyan also rued that Prime Minister Narendra Modi maintains his silence on External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and Rajasthan CM Vasundhararaje who have helped former ILP chairman Lalit Modi, embroiled in several controversies, leave the country.
The youth Congress leader also accused a Maharashtra Minister Pankaj Munda of awarding contracts without inviting tenders.
The MPYC members would stage a sit-in in Imphal on July 3 demanding the sacking of these BJP leaders from their posts.
A memorandum to the President of India would also be submitted through the State Governor, Daiyan added.
