Lamka, August 26 2010:
The two-day long agitation of Manipur Hill Journalists' Union ended today as the commander-in-chief of KNF (MC) has worked out an amicable solution with the union, MHJU said today.
For the last two MHJU has been on a protest, which included ceasing of publication and sit-in-protest after a functionary of KNF (MC), a signatory of the SoO, issued threats to a reporter of Lamka Post allegedly for running a story exposing the conduct of some Government officials.
As the union has arrived at an acceptable solution with the armed group, the sit-in-protest held today was withdrawn in the last minute and newspapers under the union will resume normal business from tomorrow and as such newspapers registered under the union will again hit the stands from Saturday.
