The Education Minister L Jayentakumar announced that model schools will be set up in all districts and free school uniforms will be issued to students from next year while speaking in the inaugural function of Gandhi Memorial Model High School in Churachandpur district today.
Education Minister L Jayentakumar who participated in the inaugural function said that setting up of Model School in all the districts of Manipur is in progress and in some districts Model Schools have already started functioning.
The Model schools which will have improved infrastructure including computers will be established in all the districts to provide the latest benefits of education to students, the Education Minister said.
He also mentioned that a generator with financial support for fuel will also be given to all the Model Schools as power is irregular in the state.
In the function he said that the building of the Gandhi Memorial Model High School which was inaugurated today at Churachandpur was constructed at the cost of rupees 41 lakhs, he further mentioned that the first floor of the building will be constructed soon.
He expressed his optimism that the model school would provide immense benefit to the students of Churachandpur district.
It may be mentioned that Keishamthong Model School, Wangkhei Model School, Gandhi Memorial Model High School have been inaugurated for Imphal West, Imphal East and Churachandpur till date in the process of establishing model schools in all the districts of the state.
The Education Minister L Jyentakumar also informed that school bags and text books have been issued to students under Serva Shikshya Abhiyan and from next year onwards free school uniforms would be provided to all students.
