With the main objective extending financial assistance to families belonging to the category of Below Poverty Line (BPL) for treatment in time of sickness, the State Government has mooted institution of a State Sickness Assistance Fund.
According to a reliable source, in this regard, the Health Department has proposed to the Planning Department for necessary approval.
In the institution of the proposed State Sickness Assistance Fund, the Centre and the State Government have to respectively contribute 50 percent of the required fund.
