Free eye camp conducted

Imphal, April 08 2023:
A free eye camp cum distribution of spectacles was held today at the United Youths' Club, Lairikyengbam Leikai, Salan Leirak.
The eye camp was jointly organised by the club and the Imphal East District United Clubs' Organization (IEDUCO) under the aegis of All Manipur United Clubs' Organization (AMUCO).
It was held in collaboration with Ophthalmology Department, JNIMS and National Programme for Control of Blindness and Visual Impairment (NPCB & VI), National Health Mission (NHM), Manipur.
Around 150 individuals were examined for eye related problems in today's camp.
AMUCO vice-president Koijam Helen; Secretary Publicity Laishram Krishnachandra; Assistant Professor, Ophthalmology Department JNIMS Dr M Ranjana; IEDUCO president T Dwijo Mangang and United Youths' Club president L Jayanta attended as the presidium members of the programme.
Speaking as the chief guest, Koijam Helen said that eyes are one of the most important organs of the human body and it is important that proper care is taken.
With an aim to provide eye care services and to reach out to maximum number of people, free eye camps are being organised in different places across the State under the aegis of AMUCO.
He appealed to all to avail the maximum benefits of these camps and assured that AMUCO will take up all possible measures for people's welfare.
