Manipur moving ahead towards development: CM

Chief Minister N Biren inaugurated the C20-India 2023 Vasudhaiva Kutum bakam National Conference organised by Chinmaya Mission at the conference hall of Hotel Imphal, North AOC, here, on Saturday.
Speaking on the occasion, Biren maintained that the state is moving ahead towards development with improvement in law and order, under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the support of the people.
As such, the state was able to host events of G20 and geared up for the Grand Finale of Femina Miss India 2023, he said.
He expressed pleasure in taking part in the event of C20-India 2023 conference and said that India has been bestowed with the honour of guiding the world with its G20 presidency and it is a proud moment for every citizen of India.
Stating that Prime Minister Modi has very aptly chosen the theme for India's Presidency as "Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam" or "One Earth, One Family, One Future ", the CM said that the theme spotlights Mission Lifestyle for Environment (LiFE) and its associated areas such as environmentally sustainable and responsible choices, both at the level of individual lifestyles as well as national development, leading to globally transformative actions resulting in a cleaner,
greener and bluer future.
The CM also mentioned that India's G20 presidency marks the beginning of 'Amritkaal' that will lead the country towards a futuristic, prosperous, inclusive and developed society, distinguished by a human-centric approach at its core.
Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam is a universal maxim, whose purpose is not an imposition but the evolution of human consciousness that will lead to the protection of the world through friendship and cooperation, he added.
Biren further observed that India has shown the way to defining Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam by supplying Covid vaccines to various nations, food grains to war-torn nations and manpower to combat disasters.
Biren said that he is confident that the deliberations at the conference will go a long way in spreading the invaluable message of universal brotherhood and voicing the concerns of the world population through the Civil Society Organisations to the world leaders in G20 .
Concluding his speech, the chief minister appealed to the public to extend hearty welcome to the contestants of Femina Miss India, who are now in Imphal for the Grand Finale and called upon the public not to do anything, which will create a bad image or impression to the visiting contestants about the state.
Taking opportunity of the occasion, the CM said that the government will soon set up a girls-only Sainik School in Bishnupur district and the government has already acquired a land plot measuring 23 acres for the purpose.
RD & PR minister Y Khem-chand, who was also present at the programme, said that giving a positive impact to the economic development of the state is possible through development in the tourism sector.
The state has been able to host events of G20 and Femina Miss India Grand Female due to considerable improvement in law and order under the leadership of chief minister N Biren.
The minister continued that Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam reflects India's global leadership and added that the country's role in global leadership has improved a lot under the leadership of Prime Minister Nar-endra Modi.
He mentioned that India, as a global leader, has been playing a broader role in solving several challenges and issues.
He stressed the need to promote the concept of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam to maintain peace across the world.
He also expressed gratitude to Chin-maya Mission and C20 team or organising the conference in the state.
Resident spiritual mentor at Chinmaya Mission, Chennai, Swami Mitrananda, Loktak Development Authority chairman M Asnikumar, Chinmaya Mis sion Trust Manipur secretary Lt Gen (Retired) L Nishikanta, vice chancellors of universities, professors of various educational institutes, retired and serving army officers also attended the conference among others.
The inaugural session was followed by technical sessions on topics including Dharma, Education, Ecology, Geopolitics and Defence.
