Smartphones distributed to college students

Smartphone distribution programme for student beneficiaries of Chief Minister's College Maheiroi E-Support Scheme (CMCMESS) was held at the conference hall of Oriental College (autonomous) here on Saturday.
The programme was attended by College principal Dr S Ranjit Singh, IQAC coordinator Ch Somorendra Singh, dean of arts Dr G Ranita Devi, dean of science Dr Kh Keinahanbi Devi and Department of Chemistry HOD M Lokendro, who is also AMCTA president, as the presidium members.
During the programme, Department of Physics and CMCMESS College nodal officer assistant Prof Dr S Nabad-wip Singh delivered the keynote address, while Department of Chemistry and Moodle Trainer of the College assistant professor Dr M Phalguni Singh elaborated on the usage and benefits of LMS Moodle for the students.
While speaking on the topic "Smart Phones for Smart Learning", Department of Political Science assistant professor Kongkham Biplob Singha deliberated at length about proper and judicious use of smartphones for academic and co-curricular purposes and highlighted the importance of different e-resources including MOOCs, NDLI, E-Gyan-kosh, Inflibnet-NLIST, etc.
Meanwhile, principal Dr S Ranjit Singh exhorted the students to make best use of the smartphones and employ the gadgets to achieve optimal learning outcomes.
The event was attended by all the teachers and students including the 14 beneficiaries and secretaries of the Students' Union.
