Benefits of multi utility youth centres underscored

Mayang Imphal AC MLA Kongkham Robindro inaugurated a Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Multi Utility Youth Centre at Mayang Imphal Thana Awang Leikai today.
The centre was built under the sponsorship of Manipur Development Society (MDS) .
Speaking at the inaugural ceremony, K Robindro who is also Manipur Industrial Development Corporation Limited (MANIDCO) Chairman said that the multi utility youth centre is built with the objective of guiding and leading the youths towards the right path.
Enlisting the facilities which will be provided in the centre, he said that computers with internet connection will be kept at the centre to enable the students and youths to use it for educational purposes.

Gym facilities will also be provided to promote good health among the youths, he added.
Expressing that there are very few places where the members of Meetei/Meitei community come together to discuss community issues, he maintained that such centres will help in enhancing the rate of interaction among the youths and elderly people to work collectively for the progress of the society.
In view of the many issues which have been impacting the State such as environmental issues, drug menace, communal discord etc, Robindro stressed on the need of cohesive efforts to prevent the further degradation of the society and strive for a developed and peaceful State.
MDS Chief Engineer S Rupkumar while speaking as the chief guest stated that MDS is taking up the construction activities of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Multi Utility Youth Centres across the State to promote the well-being of youths under the supervision of Chief Minister N Biren Singh.
The inaugural programme was also attended by MDS EE Surendrajit who expressed that the existence of such centres will act as developmental space for youths preventing them from falling prey to harmful habits.
