Joykisan, Jyotin among 9 to file papers

Imphal, February 04 2022:
Two rival candidates from Thangmeiband AC Kh Joykisan Singh and Jotin Waikhom filed their nominations today.
Khumukcham Joykisan Singh, who recently joined the Janata Dal (U), filed his nomination at the office of the RO, 9-Thangmeiband AC Dr Imran Khan.
His nomination was supported by 10 proposers.
The nomination paper of BJP candidate Jotin Waikhom was supported by two proposers.
Deputy Speaker of the Assembly and BJP candidate Kongkham Robindro Singh also filed his nomination papers today from 23-Mayang Imphal Assembly Constituency to Returning Officer (RO), 23-Mayang Imphal AC H Sukumar Singh.
His nomination paper was supported by one proposer.
Ex-Minister Karam Shyam filed his nomination again from 20-Langthabal Assembly Constituency, today.
BJP candidate CAF & PD Minister Thokchom Satyabrata Singh also filed his nomination from 14-Yaiskul Assembly Consti- tuency for the two-phase Manipur Assembly election today.
Satyabrata whose nomination was supported by one proposer filed his nomination paper at the office of the Returning Officer (RO), 14-Yaiskul AC, Pooja Elangbam.
Another five candidates also filed their nominations today.
NPP candidate Huidrom Vikramjit Singh of Wangkhei Thangjam Leikai filed his nominations from 14-Yaiskul AC.
BJP's candidate Khongbantabam Ibomcha of Nongada Makha Leikai filed his nomination papers from 8-Lamlai AC.
The filing of nomination was held at the office of the RO, Surma Thiyam.
Communist Party of India (CPI) candidate RK Amusana Singh (alias Rajkumar Amusana Singh) of Khurai Sajor Leikai filed his nomination from 3-Khurai AC at the office of the RO, Elangbam Amuthoi Khanganba.
Mohammed Amin Shah of the Indian National Congress (INC), a resident of Kshetri Bengoon Awang Leikai, filed his nomination from 4-Kshetrigao AC at the office of the RO Subinson Sapam.
His nomination was supported by three proposers.
Hangkhanpau Taithul, a former Minister and president of Janata Dal (United) Manipur filed his nomination from Singnat AC at the office of RO, 60-Singnat (ST) AC.
Filing of nominations for the first phase of the upcoming Assembly elections to the 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly began on 1st February 2022.Nomination papers will be received till 8th February and scrutiny of nomination papers will be taken up on 9th February.
The last date for withdrawal of candidature will be 11th February.
The first phase of the two-phase polling for the 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly will be held in 38 Assembly Constituencies on February 27 and in 22 seats in the second phase on March 3 .
The counting of votes will be on March 10 .
Altogether 9 candidates have filed their nominations till today, the fourth day of nomination, which include four candidates of BJP, three of NPP and two of Janata Dal (United) .
