Five cadres of 3 outfits held

Imphal, February 04 2022:
Security forces arrested five active cadres of three underground outfits along with arms and ammunition from different locations of Imphal East and Imphal West districts in the last 24 hours.
According to sources, a combined team of Imphal West commandos and 15 and 16 Assam Rifles arrested three active cadres of a banned underground outfit from Khagempali and Thangmeiband Lourung Purel Leikai last night along with arms and ammunition.
The arrested persons are-Sanasam Shyamsal Meitei @ Nanao (30), s/o S Sanatomba Meitei of Hiyanthang Maning Leikai, RK Solomon @ Amon Singh (47), s/o (L) RK Thambousana Singh of Thangmeiband Lourung Purel Leikai and Waikhom Nganglentomba Meitei @ Gogo (47), s/o (L) W Thambalngou Meitei of Thangmeiband Kabrabam Leikai.
One Glock pistol marked as Glock 21 Gen 4 USA .45, one magazine and 23 live rounds was seized from Solomon while another Glock pistol marked as Glock 30 Gen 4 USA .45, two magazines and 17 live rounds were seized from Nganglentomba.
The combined team also seized one black TATA Harrier bearing Manipur registration number and 3 mobile phones.
The arrested persons have been handed over to Imphal police station along with the seized articles.
The combined team also arrested one active cadre of KCP (PWG) identified as Mangsatabam Romesh @ Tonjao (19), s/o (L) Tomba of Luwangshangbam Awang Leikai from Pangei, Imphal East last night.
From him, one .32 pistol with a loaded magazine having three live rounds, two Chinese hand grenades and one demand letter for Rs 10 lakh have been seized.
He has been handed over to Heingang police station.
Meanwhile, a team of Imphal West commandos arrested an active member of KYKL from Tharoijam Bazar crossing today.
He has been identified as Wahengbam Momocha Singh (34), s/o W Tomba Singh of Heirangoithong, currently staying at Taothong Mamang Leikai.
From his possession, two mobile phones and a Suzuki.
He was arrested earlier in 2017 and 2020 too.
The arrested person has been handed over to Patsoi police station along with the seized articles.
