RPI to announce 5 more names today

Republican Party of India (Athawale) would be announcing the names of five more candidates on Saturday.
Addressing a press meet held at RPI (A) office in Keishampat here Friday, state president Maheshwar Thounaojam said that the second list of candidates was initially meant to be announced on Friday.
However, it was delayed till Saturday after the central party leaders and central election core committee said they would be scrutinizing the candidates.
Stating that the candidacy was given after detailed discussion by president Ramdas Athawale, party leaders and the election core committee; Maheshwar said that the state unit cannot intervene in the matter.
Recently, many people have joined the party out of love or after failing to get the ticket of other parties.
"It is part of human nature to feel disheartened after failing to get the ticket and some decided to vent their anger at the party office a few days ago", the state party president recalled, while urging all concerned not to repeat such acts in future.
"All those who are given party tickets were selected after a detailed survey", he contended.
RPI (A) Northeast observer Vinod Nikalje, who also attended the press meet, said that RPI (A) was formed with the objective of safeguarding the fundamental rights of the people all across the country.
The party does not tolerate corruption, he stated, while refuting the rumours circulating on social media accusing the party of taking money for issuing party ticket.
Meanwhile, Elangbam Sovid of Khundrakpam AC and David Maram of Tengnoupal AC were accorded a warm welcome on joining RPI (A) on Friday.
