Ukhrul village rolls out red carpet for NPF candidate

In an interesting turn of events, Homung Shaiza son of former MLA of Ukhrul Assembly Constituency, Late Danny Shaiza turned up for the reception cum felicitation program of NPF candidate of Ukhrul A/C Ram Muivah at Muirei village around 31 kms from Imphal today.
The attendance of Homung Shaiza gains importance in the backdrop of the fact that his very close cousin, Somatai Shaiza has been named as the BJP candidate in Ukhrul AC.
Significantly the late Danny Shaiza was first elected as a BJP MLA in 2000 and again on the same party's ticket in 2002 .
Addressing the gathering, Homung Shaiza said that his late father was known to everyone and added that he had come there to highlight the commitment of Ram Muivah to the welfare of the people.
Ram Muivah is not only the finest but the best, he declared.

Former IAS officer Ram Muivah was named as the NPF candidate for Ukhrul AC on January 31 and the party's ticket was formally handed over on February 2 at Kohima.
Addressing the gathering Ram Muivah said, "I have not taken the plunge into politics on some whims.
It has been my dream to work for the weak and the less fortunate and it was this dream which prompted me to prepare and crack the UPSC examination to get into the IAS.
Now today, I want to continue to work towards my aspiration as a representative of the people" .
Representing the people is not for my comfort or for any self centred object, but to solely serve the people to the best of my ability, Muivah said and added that service to humanity is service to God.
Spelling out his plans, Muivah said that loans can be availed from international bodies like the World Bank, ADB and JICA.
Such loans can be availed and utilised to develop not only Ukhrul but also the whole State of Manipur, he added.
This is what I have stressed in my 'Vision Statement,' said the NPF candidate added that he would do his best to help the people and the place, if elected.
The Vision Statement was released by Rev Father Siby Alexander, Parish Priest St Anthony Muirei in front of the congregation today.
Former headman of Hunphun Ukhrul HA Haoreingam extended his unstinted support to Ram Muivah.
