Imphal, June 02 2012:
Thangmeiband Kendra Development Organisation (Takdo) has accused a nominee of the assembly constituency's former MLA of embezzling FCS items meant for the kendra's public in collusion with a District Supply Officer of the FCS.
Speaking to newspersons at the Organisation's office at Khoyathong today, Takdo publicity secretary L Tajmani explained that as the new MLA Khumukcham Joykisan took the oath of office and secrecy on March 11 FCS nominees appointed by the former MLA Radhabinod Koijam should consequently cease with immediate effect.
However, a nominee of the former MLA namely RK Chandrajit was found to have lifted kerosine quota of 2000 litres for the Assembly on March 23 and 26 in collusion with one FCS DSO, the secretary claimed while regretting that inspite of the PDS item embezzlement neither the accused is being pulled up for appropriate action nor is there any move to recover the kerosine quota which Chandrajit had lifted stealthily.
In the backdrop of such irregularities, MLA Joykisan intervened and subsequently ensured that PDS items for April and May reach are provided to the deserving public, he added.
