PIB (DW) clarifies on NSCN (IM) and ZUF clash

With reference to the newspaper reports stating that Army had warned NSCN-IM cadres in the Nungba Constituency to move out before the clash took place between NSCN (IM) and ZUF cadres on 30 May in Tamenglong District, the PIB (DW) clarified that over a period of time the population of the area has been repeatedly sensitized and explicit messages sent to all agencies concerned by the Red Shield Division to abstain from any type of unlawful activity or unauthorised carriage of weapons.
Defaulters would be arrested and dealt with as per prevailing law of the land.
A statement of the PIB (DW) asserted that the Red Shield Division has presently campaigned through student, women and other civilian bodies through meetings/Pamphlets to ensure that no armed miscreants or groups violate the peace and tranquility in the region.
It is further clarified that no direct contact has been established by any unit under the Red Shield Division with any cadre or underground group who were involved in the inter faction clash of may 30 .
