Imphal, June 02 2012:
Selected candidates for the posts of women constable in Manipur Police Department today submitted a memorandum to the state Home Minister Gaikhangam demanding offer letters for them.
The JAC 2011 Selection Police Women Constable Manipur today organised a meeting of the selected candidates at Manipur Press Club to discuss the matter.
Later, under the leadership of Adhikarimayum Supriya, General Secretary of the JAC, they went to the Old Secretariat to meet the Home Minister.
However, police only allowed Supriya and another woman to meet the Home Minister for submitting the memorandum.

During the meeting, Home Minister Gaikhangam reportedly told them to wait for one month, to which they objected and press for issuing the offer letters on or before June 15 .
Supriya told mediapersons that they would be launching various forms of agitation in case the Government fails to provide the offer letters by June 15 .
