Aids distributed to differently abled

Imphal, March 28 2015 :
Aids and appliances were distributed to 100 differently abled persons by Relief Centre for the Welfare of Differently Abled persons, Manipur in coordination with ALIMCO, Guwahati during a programme held at Gopalji Mandap, Tera Sapam Leirak on Saturday.
Revenue/Art & Culture/CAF & PD Secretary Kh Radhakumar and Centre for the Welfare of Differently Abled persons, Manipur, former President; Ch Opendro Singh graced the function as Chief Guest and President respectively.
Ukhrul ADC Member Fillson Y Lunghar was the Guest of Honour.
Representative of ALIMCO Guwahati also attended the programme.
Artificial Limb, White Cane, Tri Cycle, Wheelchair, Caliber, Briall Kit, Elbow Crest etc were distributed to differently abled persons.

Kh Radhakumar expressed gratitude to ALIMCO Guwahati and spoke about the need for equal development of all sections of people in the society.
He also emphasized on the necessity of finding out the exact number of differently abled persons in the State.
Fillson Y Lunghar said that the society should understand the needs or the differently abled persons and should assist them.
Ch Opendro urged to find out a proper channel to get Government Certification for differently abled persons so as to ensure that the benefits meant for them are properly utilized.
He also stated that out of a total of 52,000 differently abled persons, less than half have been certified.
This, he said was a cause for worry.
