Village Biodiversity board training concludes

Imphal, March 28 2015 :
Manipur Chief Secretary PC Lawnkunga on Saturday said one of the many causes of water scarcity in Imphal Valley areas was due to excessive practice of Jhum cultivation in the surrounding areas of Sinda Dam.
The Chief Secretary pointed this out while speaking at the valedictory function of Village Botanists Course of Biodiversity Committee Members (BCM) orgainsed by Manipur Biodiversity Board (MBB) at the office of the Forest Department, Sanjenthong, Imphal.

Addressing the function, Lawnkunga who is also the Chairman of Manipur Biodiversity Board said the problems of water scarcity have been discussed with the Government top officials and responsible departments.
He appealed all to create awareness on biodiversity.

Over 20 trainees participated in the course and certificates were distributed to trainees.
