PSK to be inaugurated March 31

Imphal, March 28 2015 :
Union Minister of State (independent charge) of the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER) Dr.Jitendra Singh and Minister of State for External Affairs, Overseas Indian Affairs, Statistics and Programme Implementation (independent charge) Dr Vijay Kumar (VK) Singh will be visiting Manipur on March 31 for the inaugural function of Passport Seva Kendra (PSK), Imphal to be held at Hotel Imphal between 11.30 a.m.and 2.30 p.m. Dr.VK Singh will be inaugurating the Passport Seva Kendra, Imphal in the presence of Dr Jitendra Singh, Members of Parliament Dr Thokchom Meinya, Haji abdul Salam and Thangso Baite.
Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh will preside over the function to be held at Sangai Hall, Hotel Imphal.

After the arrival of the two Union Ministers, they will proceed towards the Passport Seva Kendra, Imphal (Old Assembly Complex) for ribbon cutting, unveiling of plaque and also inspect the Kendra.
Dr.VK Singh and Dr Jitendra Singh will also be given a traditional welcome at Hotel Imphal before Chief Minister Ibobi and other dignitaries unveil the plaque.
This will be followed by remarks by Joint Secretary (PSP) & Chief Passport Officer, Ministry of External Affairs followed by addresses by both the Union Ministers of State.
Chief Minister Ibobi will also address the function.
Hosts of State dignitaries including Chief Secretary PC Lawnkunga, Additional Chief Secretaries, Principal Secretaries, Commissioners and Secretaries; State Police Officers, Manipur High Court Judges and Army and BSF officials will be attending the function.
Votes of Thanks will be given by T Ajungla Jamir, Regional Passport Officer, Guwahati.
After the end of the function, both the ministers will leave Imphal for New Delhi.
Necessary instruction on security arrangement for the visit of the Union Ministers of State has been given to the State Government.
It may be recalled that the State Government has been preparing to set up a Passport office in Imphal since 2010 and the officials of Regional Passport authority in Guwahati had visited to inspect the area where the office was to come up.
The inauguration of the Passport Seva Kendra, Imphal is expected to immensely benefit the people of the state who had been compelled to go all the way to Guwahati spending huge amount of money for procuring the same.
