Imphal, March 28 2015 :
Sensing the deteriorating and chaotic nature of Manipur's Educational System, All Manipur Students' Union (AMSU) on Saturday urged the State Government to set up a powerful human resource department.
AMSU in a press note issued by its Headquarters Information & Publicity Secretary L Surbala, pointed out that the pathetic situation of education in Manipur was a result of lack of long term planning by the responsible department.
AMSU also appealed the Government to adopt short term measures so as to set the educational system right as it is the backbone of a society.
Comparing the prioritization of various State Governments in the educational field, AMSU stated that Manipur's Education System has been paralyzed from the primary level to the university level.
AMSU pointed out that Government primary schools have few students.
However, money sanctioned for the Mid Day Meal Scheme has been regularly transacted.
The failure to control and check the mushrooming new schools by the Education Department has resulted in the recent CBSE admit cars issue jeopardizing the future of students.
AMSU further said states that lack of intake capacity and facilities has left graduate students wandering for PG degrees in the State.
Even the capable colleges do not have post graduate courses due to apathy of the authorities.
AMSU stated that regularization of 'Contract teachers of hill schools' is needed as the Government has been giving assurances from 2005 .
