Pre- summit conclave held at Kakching

Prior to the World Youth Summit 2015 India, a pre-summit conclave was held yesterday at Kakching where foreign and National delegates were accorded a warm reception by the local people.
The conclave was organized by Reception Committee, Pre-Summit Conclave of the World Youth Summit 2015 India, and Alliance for Development Alternatives Manipur (ADAM) Kakching.
As a part of the pre-summit conclave, floral tributes were paid to Lamyanba Hijam Irabot while trees were planted at Angaan Ching Eco-Park to support the movement for biodiversity conservation, promotion of eco-tourism and sustainable development.
At the tree plantation programme, special guest Dr Th Dhabali said that "We need to protect and preserve our biodiversity by planting more trees.
If there are more trees in a place, it would be easy to promote eco-tourism".
Chairman of World Youth Summit 2015, Prof N Rajmuhon said that Angaan Ching Eco-Park can be home to various indigenous vegetation which are almost extinct from Manipur.
He added that youth are the key for a better society and tree plantation prior to such youth summit serves the right purpose as it would encourage the youth to work for the betterment of generations to come.
Conservator of Forest, Mohendra Pratap added that without ecological security there is no security for the future.
He asserted "We must keep our environment clean and appreciate the works taken up by the organizers in planting trees at Angaan Ching Eco-Park" .
The World Youth Summit 2015 is organized under the theme 'Youth for Global Empowerment' stated K Karnajit convener of the summit.
He added that the summit would discuss current issues pertaining to youth across the world.
"For sustainable development of a society, youth are an integral part and they should have all the know-how of what is happening around them", added Karnajit.
Delegate from Nepal, Rajan Kandel expressed his sincere gratitude towards the organizers of the pre- summit conclave.
He added that the summit would surely help the youth coming from various parts of the world to understand the current issues which they are facing and bring an amicable recommendation for the betterment of youth.
India will be hosting the World Youth Summit 2015 for the first time at the City Convention Center in Imphal from March 29 to April 2 where 1500 participants from different parts of the globe are expected to participate.
The youth summit is organized by Club 25 International, a club which is youth oriented and is a global social club for young people committed to saving lives by regularly donating blood.
Meanwhile a public reception for the delegates was also held at Library and Information Centre Auditorium, Kakching.
President of Editor's Guild A Mobi was the chief guest while P Shampha, president of Library and Information Centre was the functional president and Chairman of World Youth Summit 2015, Prof.N Rajmuhon was the guest of honour.
At the public reception many indigenous dances including tribal war dance and martial arts were performed in front of the delegates.
Secretary of ADAM, Surjit Kshetrimayum in his introductory speech said that the place where trees were planted today would be called World Youth Summit 2015 Memorial Complex and added that the summit would bring positive inputs to youth.
Speaking at the function, chief guest A Mobi said that the youth are the pillars of a Nation and they should work with an objective to succeed in life.
He showed his appreciation towards the people of Kakching and the neighbouring villages for being united and working as one unit.
