Teachers' Day celebrated across the State

Teacher's Day was widely celebrated in the State on Sunday to appreciate the role played by teachers in the life of students.
Every year, September 5 is also celebrated as Teacher's Day in India to commemorate the birth anniversary of former President and Bharat Ratna recipient Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan.
IQAC & Students' Union of United College, Lambung, Chandel celebrated Teacher's Day as part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav at the Multipurpose Hall of the college.
The celebration was attended by teachers, students and parents.
During the programme, prizes for the quiz competition conducted on India's Freedom Struggle were also distributed.
Similarly, Assam Rifles Battalions under the aegis of IGAR (South) organised Teacher's Day celebration in schools of Ukhrul, Churachandpur, Bishnupur and Noney districts on September 5 .

To commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan, a special dental check up camp was organised for teachers and students of Agape School, Sanaikot village, CCPur district.
The camp was organised with an aim to provide dental treatment to the teachers and students of remote villages wherein they were educated on the importance of maintaining oral hygiene.
As part of the celebration, interactive lectures were also organised by Assam Rifles Battalions at various locations.
The lectures were followed by felicitation of the teachers.
Likewise, Kakching High School 1984 Matric Batch also celebrated Teacher's Day by felicitating 11 teachers of the school.
Speaking on the occasion, president, Naorem Munal Meitei stated that every year the association has been providing gifts and other items to honour the teachers of Kakching High School, now known as Kakching Higher Secondary School.
Noney Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ 22 Sector AR and IGAR (East) also celebrated Teacher's Day at Vill Kharam, Pallen, Kangpokpi district.
During the programme, students and teachers were provided with stationary and other items to promote education in the remote area.
Moreover, Teacher's Day was also held at RIMS with its Director recounting the strides the Institute has made down the years.
