Imphal, August 12 2010:
The government of Manipur will celebrate the Patriots' Day tomorrow.
Governor of Manipur, Gurbachan Jagat and Chief Minister O Ibobi will be chief guest and president respectively.
In the morning function on that day, floral tributes will be offered at Hicham Yaicham Pat at Moirangkhom here at 8 am.
At 8.30 am, floral tributes will be offered at the complex of Thangal General temple, Palace Compound in Imphal East.
The evening function will start from 3.30 pm.
Chief guest, Governor Gurbachan Jagat and president, Chief Minister will arrive at the western gate of Kangla at 3.30 pm.
As usual, DGP, Dy Commissioner, Imphal West and Protocol Officer would receive the two.
Then they all will proceed on foot straight up to Kangla Utra where they will lay wreathes to the martyrs.
Afterwards, they will proceed back on foot from Kangla Utra to Bir Tikendrajit park where they will offer floral tributes at Shaheed Minar.
The District Administration, Senapati and Patriots' Day Celebration Committee will jointly observe the Patriots' Day tomorrow at General Thangal Ecological Park, Mayangkhang in Senapati district at 9.45 am.
Chairman, Hill Areas Committee, Thangminlien Kipgen and MLA Moirang A/C, M Prithviraj will be the chief guest and the president respectively.
The Day will also be observed by the Manipuri Diaspora Association, Delhi at 5 pm at Triveni Auditorium, Mandi House, New Delhi.
Minister of State for Water Resources, Government of India, Vincent H Pala will be the chief guest.
The members of the Manipur Diaspora Association, Delhi will pay homage and floral tributes to the martyrs at Manipur Institute of Performing Arts, Plot No 88, Sector 18, Gurgaon, Haryana at 9.30 am tomorrow, informed the president of MDA, Delhi, RK Brajachand Singh.
