Imphal, August 12 2010:
Asserting that celebration of the Independence Day of India while suppressing the freedom of Kangleipak is unacceptable, the armed outfit KCP-MC has declared 24 hours 'emergency' in the State on August 15 .
A press release issued by the outfit's publicity and information secretary Paikhomba reminded that Manipur was a sovereign State with its own constitution before India achieved independence on August 15, 1947 .
Calling upon the proletariat people of Manipur to see if there is reason to join the Independence Day celebrations orchestrated by the bourgeoise class of India, the outfit declared "Respect the proletariat people's revolution and proletariat people will respect Indian Independence Day".
Although the Government of Indian has been projecting the liberation movement as 'insurgency' or 'terrorism', the legitimate people's liberation of the North East region can never be suppressed, it asserted.
Saying that the Government of India has been imposing several draconian rules and implementing sinister policies imitating the British imperialists just like the "History repeats the same", the outfit said that the people of Manipur are well aware of all these rules and policies as they have already experienced during the British period.
The Indian tradition and practices which have its roots in the Indus Valley Civilization are quite different from those of Manipuri people.
Whereas the Indian society is classified into different categories promoting discrimination, the Manipuri society has no such class division or discrimination.
The people of hills and valley have been living together cordially based on a time-tested relationship based on inter-dependence.
The KCP-MC respects all Independence Days of all free nations but the Indian Independence day would be boycotted with a total bandh in Manipur.
It said that water supply, electricity, ritual ceremonies and medical would be exempted from bandh.
