Ukhrul, May 23 2015 :
Consequent upon the resignation and subsequent pledging to abide by the ideology of the Nagas, Tangkhul Naga Long (TNL) on Friday organized a home coming reception function for ten former ADC members of Indian National Congress (INC) party at its premises.
The function was organized by TNL under the directive of United Naga Council (UNC) wherein as per the Tangkhul Customary Practice (TNL Shiyan-Chikan Section No.114), the Tangkhul apex body revoked the ex-communication order against the ten former ADC members namely, Shangm Luireiwo, Mathew Kamodang, H Shangai, A Josiah, K Naokahao, ZV Wungpam, M Anizote, Peter Kamkara, LW Chansala and Joseph Kashung.
Expressing gratitude for reinstating them as members in the Tangkhul society, former councillor Peter Kamkara on behalf of the restored members, said that they had strayed into a wrong path against the wishes and aspiration of the whole Nagas.
He added that all the members have now pledged to uphold the ideology of the Nagas.
It may be recalled that a directive of UNC had on 14 May, 2011 called a communication order against all the ADC members who contested the ADC election 2011 which was then boycotted by the Naga council.
Meanwhile, according to a resolution adopted during the function, the ex-communication order remains effective for all former ADC members except those who have surrendered and resigned from INC party membership.

A decision to this effect was taken during a co-ordination meeting of Tangkhul Naga Long and TFOs comprised of Tangkhul Shanao Long (TSL), Tangkhul Katamnao Saklong (TKS) and four zonal bodies Ato, Aze, Zingsho and Zingtun Longphangs held on Saturday in the district headquarters, according to TNL General Secretary Nobert Khayi.
