Democratic Students' Alliance of Manipur (DESAM) has demanded the State Govt to conduct a probe into the mysterious death of a State student at Ujan Tarapur of Cachar district, Assam.
Addressing a press meet today at its head office, general secretary of DESAM P Premchandra said that Sana-sam Diyabi Singh (16) s/o S Jiten and Sumila of Wangoo Mamang Sabal Leikai, Thoubal district, a class X student of Grace English School died in a mysterious circumstance at his school.
On May 22 at 10:30 am, relatives of Diyabi got the information that he was admitted to a local hospital after he was drowned in a pond inside the school campus while taking bath.
Without any prior information to his guardians, a postmortem was conducted raising myriad questions, stated Premchandra.
DESAM demanded the re-conduct of post mortem with full video coverage sending State Govt's representatives to investigate the case.
S Jiten stated that there was an incident where the warden threatened his son for some reasons last year, but it was resolved and there was no such reports till today.
S Sumila appealed to all sections of the society to extend support in finding the truth.
Further, DESAM warned that it would not remain a silent spectator to the incident until justice is delivered.
