Imphal, September 14 2015:
Sharing grief over the loss of lives and injuries to many in the course of protests against the three Bills passed by the Manipur Assembly on Aug 31, International Meiteis Forum (IMF) said the incidents occurred due to misunderstanding.
In a statement, publicity secretary of IMF, N Bikramjit appealed to all concerned not to be overwhelmed in the pursuit of ethno-centric interest.
All communities of the State - Naga, Kuki, Meitei Pangal and Meitei should settle any differences across the table.
IMF will fight against any individuals who are scheming divisive agendas to divide and sow the seeds of hatred among the indigenous communities of Manipur, it said.
Clarifying that IMF is not a communal forum, the statement said that the forum has no relation with the statements of RK Rajendro and his cohorts, which were reacted through newspapers by ATSUM, TKLI and Kuki Research Forum.
Any views expressed by RK Rajendro in the name of IMF that could harm the ethnic relations and cause hatred and ill will among the different communities of the State would be of his own.
IMF is a forum to promote and strengthen bond of unity among all communities and promote peace in the State.
The forum is ever ready to face any challenge on the integrity of the State, it added.
