Lhukhosei Zou elected Chandel ADC Chairman

Lhukhosei Zou elected from 16-Moreh (B) New DCC has been re-elected as the Chairman of Chandel Autonomous District Council today.
Out of the total 24 Members of the ADC, 14 Members unanimously re-elected Lhukhosei Zou as their Chairman.
Of the 14 Members who supported Lhukhosei Zou, 10 were elected on Congress tickets, two were elected on BJP tickets while the other two were elected as Independent Members.
All the four non-Congress Members joined Congress recently.
Polling for election of ADC Chairman was held at the ADC Bhavan, Chingmeirong with S Tongpao Mate elected from 6-Sita DCC as presiding officer.
The presiding officer declared that Lhukhosei Zou has been elected uncontested as the fifth Chairman of Chandel ADC.

Ballot voting system was ruled out by the Presiding Officer as it was only Lhukhosei Zou who filed nomination paper for the post of ADC Chandel.
The Chandel DC, Lhukhosei Zou and the Members who supported him were present at the polling held today.
In the 2010 ADC election, Lhukhosei Zou was elected on Congress ticket and he went to become the ADC Chairman.
This year too, he was elected on Congress ticket.
Speaking to media persons after being elected as Chairman, Lhukhosei Zou said he was elated on successfully installing the Chandel ADC today without any obstructions.
Conveying his gratitude to all the Congress Members who re-elected him as the Chandel ADC Chairman for the second time.
Lhukhosei pointed out that Congress was able to form ADCs only in Chandel and Sadar Hills unlike the previous term where Congress was in power in all the six ADCs.
In order to understand the aspirations of the people of Chandel district as well as their major problems, a series of meetings would be held.
ADC Chandel would invest all its resources and energy for expeditious and uniform development of the whole district, Lhukhosei said.
