It is unfortunate that the three Bills passed in the Assembly on August 31 have sown seeds of discord amongst the people, said Ibotombi and added that the said Bills were passed to protect the indigenous people of the land.
Different communities should come together and talk things over so that differences and misunderstandings can be sorted out.
Johnson Elangbam in his speech as a guest of honour said all challenges posed to the integrity of Manipur would be met with squarely.
The people of Manipur and UCM will never compromise on the issue.
Everyone is welcome to pursue their own peace processes but it should not be against the interest of Manipur, he added.
Giving his presidential speech, vice president of IPSA, K Joychandra said that the Government should settle the present outstanding issues.
It would be wrong for the Government to turn a blind eye to the situation, he said and added the silence of the Government tantamount to saying that it is not fit to rule the place.
The three Bills passed on August 31 are not against the interest of any community, he said and added that the three Bills are for the good of Manipur.
Members of IPSA from different districts and office bearers of the head office also took part in the observation and collectively pledged to sacrifice everything for the land and people, protect the territorial integrity of the State and promote peace.
