Assistance to widows

26 Sector Assam Rifles has taken a noble pledge to help a widows' organization functioning at Pallel today.
According to a statement issued by the PRO of IGAR (S), the widows who were making bamboo handicraft, were finding it difficult to make their ends meet.
Sensing the urgency, Assam Rifles, swung into action and chalked out a road map for their improved sustenance.
Speaking to the widows, Brigadier Rajiv Chhibber, Commander 26 Sector Assam Rifles highlighted the need for them to go commercial and diversify, given the immense talent that existed.
Promotion and sale of the handicrafts produced was taken on by the Assam Rifles towards increasing their revenue generation.
To kick start the initiative, a suitable outlet for selling the products in an organized manner is being provided.
In addition, other projects to include honey bee farming and green house projects are also being explored with the singular objective of alleviating the hardships of these widows.
The Commander complemented the widows' group for their intense hard work and their will to achieve, and promised that all efforts will be made towards sustaining their organization.
