RIMS protests attack on its doctor

Doctors and PG students of RIMS today staged a sit-in-in front of the hospital's OPD to protest the attack on Dr Ng Taruni, Professor of Medicine Dept, RIMS at her clinic at Uripok last night by unidentified miscreants.
Meanwhile, Indian Medical Association, Manipur State Branch has strongly condemned the dastardly life attack of Dr Ng Taruni.
Strongly condemning the life attempt on the doctor, General Secretary of RIMS PGs Association, Dr S Bitam, who took part in the sit-in today appealed the concerned authorities to conduct detail investigation in the case and punish the guilty.
He also urged the authority concerned to beef-up security in RIMS.
Although the OPD is not shut down, the PG and Undergraduate students of the Institute would support the decision of RIMS Teachers' Association in this regard, Dr Bitam said.
He also urged all concerned to clarify the matter at the earliest.
Condemning the attack on Dr Ng Taruni, an emergency State Working Committee meeting of the Indian Medical Association, Manipur State Branch held today appealed all concerned not to repeat such senseless acts in future.
The meeting also resolved to hold a peaceful protest rally against the incident on Monday, according to a statement issued by Dr S Gojendra Singh, Secretary, IMA, MSB.
