When the personnel checked the vehicle after three of the occupants were asked to alight from their vehicle, a polythene bag containing suspicious item that looked like salt and fertilizer was recovered.
The occupants also claimed that it was fertilizer, he said.
But when the item was examined with the help of testing kits, it was established to be banned ephedrine.
The three occupants were arrested besides seizing the drugs and the car, he said.
On preliminary investigation, the three revealed that the drugs were intended to be smuggled into Myanmar.
A case has been registered against them for further investigation, RK Bikramjit said.
The seized items were valued at Rs 50 lakh in International black market.
The drugs look like salt or fertilizer but with stinky smell and bitter taste.
He urged all concerned to pass information to the NAB in case they come across such thing.
