Alexander lauds Govt for recognizing Poumai

Imphal, May 29 2013:
While appreciating Education Minister Moirangthem Okendro for including Poumei dialect in the Manipur Board syllabus till class VIII, MLA of Karong A/C Alexander Pao has lauded the State Government for recognizing one of the biggest tribe in the State.
The MLA was speaking at the inaugural function of a playground in Purul Akutpa in Senapati district today.
The playground has been named after GOC Major General KK Singh.
MLA Alexander Pao hoped that with inclusion of Poumai dialect in the Manipur Board syllabus till class VIII, the language will be made known and become popular among different communities of the State.

The MLA also lauded the sincere efforts and concern shown by Red Shield Division to transform Senapati District with developmental projects and other people friendly works. GOC Major General KK Singh, who was also present on the occasion, stated that he personally intended to create the newly developed playground into one of the biggest playfields in the region.
The new playground will not be for sports alone but for all human activities and gatherings, he said, while appealing for peace and tranquility among the people of the district to usher in development and communal harmony.
