Sangai Students' Merit Award

Imphal, May 29 2013:
With an aim to encourage students in Keibul Lamjao National Park areas to participation in wild life conservation, Wild Life Wing of Forest Department, Government of Manipur has constituted 'Sangai Students' Merit Award' to be conferred annually, to successful students of class X and XII starting from the current academic year.
The award shall comprise a certificate and cash or both and shall be conferred to a maximum of 15 students each from class X and class XII, who secured a minimum of 60% marks in their respective examinations for the year 2013 conducted by board/council of the state or CBSE.
It shall cover eighteen villages around the national park namely Khordak; Nongmaikhong; Ithai Wapokpi; Thanga Salam; Thanga Oinam; Thanga Khunsen; Thanga Moirangthem; Thanga Khoirom; Sagram; Keibul; Chingmei; Chandapur; Thanga Lawai and Keirenphabi in Bishnupur district; Phubakchao; Komlakhong; Konuma and Laphupat Tera in Imphal West district, L Joykumar Singh, Deputy Conservator of Forest/Park & Sanctuary, Government of Manipur said in a release.
Joykumar has also instructed students who are permanent residents of the said jurisdiction and secured at least 60% in class X and XII examination-2013 to submit one photocopy or downloaded from the official website of the concerned board/council along with residential certificate issued by gazetted officer/local representative and contact number to any of the person-Range Forest Office, Keibul Lamjao National Park Range No I (Keibul) and II (Nogmaikhong)/Tongbram Budhi Singh, President of Environmental Reforms & Sangai Protection Forum/Salam Beekay Singh, Secretary of the Forum on or before 20th June 2013, 4PM.
