Imphal, May 29 2013:
The Kuki National Front (KNF), a party to tripartite SoO agreement from the UPF camp, has denied any involvement in the shot-out that took place at Bongbal in the night of May 27 .
A statement issued by the Info and Publicity secretary of the KNF, Lh Stephen clarified that all the weapons and cadres of the outfit were kept intact at the designated camp.
He said the name of KNF was dragged in the incident with an attempt to malign the outfit's good name and dignity.
Asserting that the KNF would not accept the formation of any new underground outfit when the peace process and political dialogue is on with the GoI, the statement appealed all Kuki UG groups, civil organisations, political leaders and the public not to extend any moral or financial support to the self-styled KNF (N) led by one Henkholen alias James in the interest of peace.
