Imphal, September 11 2015 :
Taking serious note of the hate comments made by expelled RJD MP Rajesh Ranjan alias Pappu Yadav against Manipuri community, the Janata Dal United Manipur Unit has filed a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) against Pappu Yadav at the Manipur High Court yesterday and the hearing has started today.
A notice was issued by the Manipur High Court against Pappu Yadav and the notice is to be sent by the State Government to the Bihar Government, stated president of Janata Dal United Manipur Unit M Tombi in a press briefing held today at JD-U office Babupara.
He further said that the JD-U Bihar Unit has also asked him (Pappu) and his supporters to stop tracking travellers from Manipur.
It may be mentioned here that halting of long distance trains at various stations in Bihar to protest the alleged violence against Bihari migrants in Manipur has disrupted normal flow of railway traffic and has caused a panicky situation to travellers.
"Bihar unit will take up legal action against him if his misadventures do not end at the earliest", added Tombi.
He asserted that if the travellers are further harassed by his supporters, Pappu Yadav must be held responsible for it.
Meanwhile, a team of JD-U Manipur Unit led by its president M Tombi met visiting Government of India's Joint Intelligence Committee Chairman and NSCN-IM interlocutor RN Ravi today at the Classic Hotel before he left Imphal even though no other political parties were allowed to meet him.
The JD-U Manipur Unit submitted a memorandum to RN Ravi and informed him that the political party stands for territorial integrity of Manipur and no force should challenge it, stated Tombi.
"We hope that the Naga Peace Accord will not hurt the sentiments of the people nor will it invite another mass uprising like the June Uprising of 2001", he added.
However it is hard to believe that the peace accord will not affect the territorial integrity of the State, stated General Secy.
JD-U Manipur Unit Lien Gangte.
"We welcome a solution to the decades old issue of the Nagas but it should never hurt the larger interest of Manipur else it will only exacerbate distrust among different communities settled here", Lien Gangte said.
Tombi asserted that BJP Manipur Pradesh should work in close coordination with the State Government in order to save the territorial integrity of the State instead of battling over the post of party president.
