After the incident, women bodies and local clubs of Takyel Kolom Leikai asked some persons of different families to compensate Rs 5 lakh to the girl students alleging that they had tarnished their image by making unwanted comments against them in public.
Memchoubi said that as these persons could not bear the compensation amount, the whole family members numbering 32 persons including children were banished from the locality.
After the matter came to the notice of the State level women bodies, they asked the local clubs and meira paibi bodies of Takyel Kolom Leikai to resolve the issue through a joint meeting, she said.
As the matter has now been resolved with Young Progressive Club, the State level women bodies would help the banished persons return to their respective houses.
If anybody opposes this resolution, he/she must be held responsible for any eventuality, Memchoubi cautioned.
