Phungyar is the largest Assembly Constituency to share the international border with Myanmar, said the joint statement and added that there is definitely a need to harness the potential resources available in the area and take up development initiatives in the far flung areas which have remained neglected for long due to geographical reasons.
In creating Kamjong district, the State Government should take serious steps to develop and promote international trade through early implementation of Kamjong to Huimi Thana road which is a potential gateway for international trade with South East Asian countries.
The State Government has also been urged to upgrade Sahamphung block and implement necessary requirements for effective functioning of the block at an early date.
The joint statement further said that the State Government should take up necessary steps to instal the required facilities necessary in the district headquarters.
The Raizan Kamtamnao Long has also welcomed the decision of the State Government to create Kamjong district.
