SHDP dissolved, members rejoin Cong

Sadar Hills Democratic Party (SHDP) formed by Congress Councillors of ADC Sadar Hills after the mass resignation over the failure of the Congress Government to declare Sadar Hills as a district was dissolved today and the members returned to the Congress after the official inauguration of Kangpokpi district yesterday.
The decision to dissolve SHDP and come back to the Congress was taken today at a joint meeting of Sadar Hills Congress Councillors and block Congress committee at the members' lounge, District Council Complex, Kangpokpi DHQs.
Speaking to the media, ADC Sadar Hills Vice Chairman, Thangjakam Misao, who is also the president, District Congress Committee Sadar Hills, said that the twenty Congress Councillors were compelled to tender their mass resignation from the primary membership of Congress party on November 18 on the district issue.

He also said that following the mass resignation from the Congress party, the Councillors unanimously formed Sadar Hills Democratic Party and added that the block Congress Committee, Mahila Congress, leaders and workers also tendered their resignation from the Congress party.
However, with the historic accomplishment of the more than four decade aspiration of Sadar Hills people by declaring Kangpokpi district and subsequent official inauguration on December 15 "we have unanimously decided to dissolve SHDP and withdraw the mass resignation and rejoin the Congress," he added.
He further sincere gratitude to Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh and his Government for the momentous decision.
"Indeed the declaration of Kangpokpi district by O Ibobi Singh led Congress Government on December 8 midnight is a rightful and commendable decision which has erased all the past painful memories of the people", said the Vice Chairman while adding that it is not only a dream come true but a monumental triumph of justice after a long suffering.
The ADC Sadar Hills also expressed appreciation and gratefulness to the three MLAs of Kangpokpi district including IFC Minister Ngamthang Haokip, Kangpokpi AC MLA Nemcha Kipgen and Saikul AC MLA Yamthong Haokip for their relentless efforts and struggle in attaining the cherished dream of the people.
The Congress Councillors also expressed sincere gratitude to the people of Kangpokpi district for their tireless support and cooperation.
