Imphal, February 16 2022:
Voicing strong condemnations over the controversial death of driver Keisham Prabin and handyman Nipen of Cachar, Assam in Mizoram, Protection and Preservation Committee, Manipur (PPCM) has urged the state government to exert pressure on its Assam counterpart for ensuring handing over of the case to NLA or CBI.
In a release, PPCM convenor Laikhuram Jayenta decried the silence of Assam government despite the public outcry against the death of the driver and handyman, who were its own citizens and demanded clarification whether there is any hidden agenda behind this silence.
Moreover, the government of Manipur should also take a firm stand regarding the death of the two Assam Manipuri citizens, he said and urged the people to exert pressure on the government until the truth is revealed and the justice is served.
PPCM also prayed for the two departed souls to rest in peace in their heavenly abode, the release added.
