Training programme on food processing underway

Imphal, December 26 2021:
A three-month 'Education on Basic Vocational Training Programme on food Processing' organised jointly by Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK), Thoubal and Health Care Centre (HCC) Thoubal is underway at the premises of HCC, Thoubal Pakhangkhong Leikai.
The programme was formally launched on December 23 in the presence of HCC project director W Biren Singh, NYK Thoubal advisor K Loken Singh and district youth officer Michael Mate as presidium members.
Pradhan Mantri Formalisation of Micro food processing Enterprises (PMFME) district resource person Ak Jiten is be the instructor for the training programme.
The programme is being organised with the objective of imparting basic training in the field of food processing to the inmates as well as young boys and girls of the Centre to help them sustain financially after leaving the Centre.
The trainees had their first session on the art of processing King Chilli (Umorok) on December 24, followed by chicken pickle making on Sunday.
A short awareness programme on SVEEP and importance of exercising ones' voting rights in a free and fair manner in the upcoming Manipur Legislative Assembly Election 2022 was also held during the training session.
