Kangpokpi, December 26 2021:
Thadou Students' Association (TSA), Sadar Hills has appealed to Kakai Singsit to take a break from his indefinite hunger strike during the festive season.
The students' body said that though everyone could not join Kakai Singsit in his agitation for the right cause, it touched every heart that most of the people could no longer celebrate Christmas with peace of mind.
It continued that people understand the cause of Kakai's extreme form of agitation and everyone morally support him and some churches also prayed for him during the Christmas worship service.
The Association also said that Kakai's fight for justice would be a wake-up call for the people, especially the tribals amid the government's indifferent attitude towards his movement.
It also said that the authorities fail to understand a family's mental suffering for their loved ones who despite proven their innocence with evidence are enduring "the wrath of incompetency of the police department".
TSA further said that Kakai's decision to take the extreme form of agitation is the right move to fight such incompetency of the government and the authority concerned for which it gains more support day by day.
Kakai's indefinite hunger strike has dampened the festive mood as it is very much difficult to be in a celebratory mood when one of our brothers in Christ is toiling to make the authorities concern listen to voices of the suffering.
TSA Sadar Hills then appealed to Kakai Singsit to take a break from his stir during this festive season and ahead of New Year celebration so that all can celebrate and seek new blessings together.
It may be recalled that Kakai Singsit began his indefinite hunger strike on December 20 demanding justice for his three family members put behind bars allegedly for the crime they did not commit or even aware of it.
Kakai's fast entered the sixth day on Sunday.
