Imphal, December 26 2021:
People and civil society organisations should take utmost precaution in the 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly election to be held in 2022 as Manipur might go the path of extinction if people fail to choose the right representatives, cautioned Khundrakpam MLA Th Lokeshwar.
Addressing a gathering during the inauguration of a multipurpose community hall at Walton Maning Leikai constructed with fund from his MLA Local Area Development Fund on Sunday, Lokeshwar said that people of the state should minutely discuss about their representatives to be elected in the upcoming election.
Regretting after electing wrong representatives would be meaningless and Manipur might become extinct if wrong representatives are chosen in the upcoming election, he added.
According to Lokeshwar, elected representatives from all the assembly segments will be law makers of the state and hence people should introspect deeply before choosing their representatives from among the numerous intending candidates and the best who could think for the nation and state should be elected.
The future of the land would not be bright if intending candidates threaten people and try to forcibly bring voters under their whims and fancies, he said, adding that it was result of forcible acts of the intending candidates that a student staying in his own house was killed in Heirok recently.
While urging people of Khundrakpam AC to study all the intending candidates one by one carefully, Lokeshwar asked the people to understand who came out to help people of the AC during hard times and who sold out dignity of the people of the constituency.
The inauguration function was also attended by Th Kher Singh, Waiton GP pradhan P Surbala, up-pradhan E Premjay, ward member A Roni Devi and K Bijoykumar.
