Flag hoisting ceremony of Janata Dal (United) candidate from Hiyanglam assembly constituency Elangbam Dwijamani was conducted at his Hiyanglam Bazar residence on Wednesday.
The programme was attended by JDU national general secretary and North East in charge Afaque Ahmad Khan and Lamlai MLA Ksh Biren among others.
Addressing the gathering, Dwijamani stated that if he elected his main focus would be on protecting the territorial integrity of Manipur, correcting the 'parallel' administration in the hills and valley due to the state not receiving its deserving rights under the Indian Constitution, transparent administration and improving socio-economy condition.
The voters must not be swayed by money and should give their mandate to candidate, he added.
Dwijamani continued that when he was Hiyanglam MLA he had taken up various development projects and schemes.
During his tenure, he had established three police station and two out posts in the AC.
He recalled that before his tenure there were no power sub-station in the AC, but after he become MLA 132/33/11KVA sub-station at Elangkhangpokpi and 33/11 KVA sub-station at Sekmaijin were established which resolved the power problem of the AC.
He also constructed new roads, blacktopped 18 roads in the AC and solved flooding problem of Khoidum and Pumlen lakes, said the candidate.
Dwijamani further contended that candidates of JDU are highly qualified and the change they will bring in the state will soon be witnessed after the election.
