Medical assessment camp conducted

With an objective to make sure that differently abled students have proper access to education, Samagra Shiksha Zone 1, Imphal West along with Chief Medical Officer, Imphal West and Social Welfare Department organised a medical assessment camp for Unique Disability Identification (UDID)/Identification of Children with Special Needs (CWSN) .
The medical assessment camp for CWSN in the age group of 6 to 18 years living under the jurisdiction of the zone was held at Ch Tulasing High School, Awang Sekmai Koujengleima oh Monday and at Koloipan High School, Khumbong on Tuesday.
The degree of disability for 128 children including 50 with intellectual disability, 24 with multiple-disabilities, 12 suffering from cerebral palsy, 10 of speech disorder, 19 hearing impaired, 4 visually impaired and 9 Ortho cases were examined during the camp.
Samagra Shiksha ZEO Zone 1 coordinator Qinam Aruna Chanu said that the camp has been organised so as to distribute aids, appliances and allowance to children with special needs.
