Floral tributes paid to Manipuri heroes

Imphal, September 29 2022:
Members of Preservation Committee of Deported Manipuri War Heroes visited Andaman and Nicobar Islands and paid floral tributes to Manipuri war heroes, who were exiled there by the British.
Addressing media persons at Manipur Press Club here on Wednesday, Committee general secretary Nongthombam Nabakanta said that a six-member team left for Andaman and Nicobar Islands and paid tribute to the 23 exiled Manipuri war heroes including Maharaj Kulachandra.
During the visit, the team met Andaman and Nicobar MP and raised several demands, he conveyed, while informing that Andaman government provided 2000 square metre of land on June 27, 2019 .
However, patta of the land is not yet received.
As such, he urged the government of Manipur to look into the matter and get possession of patta or the land.
