FCI warehouse maintained properly: Official

FCI Warehouse Bishnupur, Old Cachar Road officer in-charge K Simon has emphasised that the facility is being maintained properly by carrying out joint sampling regularly to prevent attack by pests.
Briefing media persons on Wednesday, K Simon informed that the warehouse has a capacity of 5068 MT and it stores rice bags allocated under NFSA, Mid-Day Meal and ICDS for six assembly constituencies of Bishnupur district namely, Nambol, Oinam, Bishnupur, Moirang, Thanga and Kumbi.
The rice is distributed under First in First Out (FIFO) basis with registration done online.
A buffer stock is also maintained for usage during any crisis such as floods, road connectivity disruption, bandh, blockade, etc., along with conducting open market sale at minimum support price.
Weights are measured before being loaded on trucks and after loading to maintain transparency, he said.
The press meet was also attended by warehouse's divisional manager Adani Mahrili Mao, quality control manager A Khomei, storage manager S Dayananda and technical assistant Ch Sa-najaoba Singh.
