Sunusiphai, Narasena take cleanliness pledge

As part of Swa-chhata Hi Seva (SHS) campaign, a cleanliness pledge was taken by denizens of Sunusiphai and Naransena in Bishnupur district on Thursday, a release by Humanism Foundation managing trustee Wahengbam Rorrkychand Singh informed.
As per the release, PHE Division, Bishnupur and Humanism Foundation, which is the support agency of Jal Jeevan Mission in the district took a joint pledge with the local clubs, NGOs, Meira Paibi and Panchayat representatives of Sunusiphai and Naransena for maintaining cleanliness at public and private spaces, ensure proper dumping of garbage and allot 100 hours a year for the same.
During the programme, staff of PHED, ISA and local bodies visited the shops and vendors in the area and informed them about single use plastics, while Central Agricultural University (CAU) scientist Dr Thangjam Anand spoke on the ill-effects of plastic on human beings and the environment as resource person.
