Imphal, September 11 2022:
A get-together event of Sayol Helping Hand, a non-profit philanthropic organisation, was held at Shrine of Integrity Park, Wakha Leima Ching in Imphal East district on Sunday.
Manipur University research scholar Chingsubam Manglemton, assistant professor Dr Romio and Sayol Helping Hand senior member Longjam Manishang attended the event as the presidium members.
Various issues concerning the society and challenges faced by the youth were discussed in the event organised under the theme 'Punshi Mayol'.
Speaking on the occasion, Manglemton stressed the importance of uniting likeminded people and helping those in need in order to bring unity, integrity and development in the society.
Unfortunately, the society is moving towards a trend where there is no longer the culture of helping their neighbours and local people in time of need.
In such a situation, it is heartening to see organisations like Sayol Helping Hand where people from different walks of life gather to make regular contribution of a small sum of money for providing assistance to needy people, he added.
Sayol member Samananda Elangbam also spoke about Say-ol-30, one of its new initiatives where likeminded people join as members and contribute Rs 30 every month for use in helping the needy.
