Bust of Rani Gaidinliu installed

Imphal, January 13 2022:
Kangleipak Kanba Lup (KKL), Manipur has installed a bust of freedom fighter Rani Gaidinliu at her native Luangkao village in Tousem sub-division of Tamenglong district.
In a release, KKL Manipur secretary general Ngamkheingakpa Luwang conveyed that a KKL team visited the village in August 2021 and found that it was in a very bad condition with ample signs of negligence by the government.
The organisation then decided to do something for the village and thus carried out fund drive which was used to erect the bust of the freedom fighter at her native village.
The statue was unveiled by KKL advisor Yambem Laba on January 9, it added; KKL Manipur further mentioned that it also presented a 2 kW capacity solar panel set to the village.
The bust unveiling programme was also attended by Keimai Assam Rifles post major Anil Khaiwal, relatives of Rani Gaidinliu and villagers, it said.
